Description
As Logistics and Transportation Manager, you are responsible for managing the execution, direction, safety, and coordination of all transportation matters within the company. This includes managing budgets, organizing schedules & routes, ensuring that drivers and fleet are safe and meet legal requirements as well as ensuring that drivers are aware of their duties.

Qualifications
-
At least 2 years experience as a Logistics and Transportation Manager in a similar industry

Bachelor's degree in logistics, business management, or a related field is a plus
-
Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
-
Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics

Time and task management abilities are also important as you must prioritize and complete multiple duties by their respective deadlines

Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations

Experience with transport management systems and software

Excellent leadership skills

Good conflict resolution skills
Responsibilities
-
Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of the ShurGreen trucking fleet and other company vehicles
-
Planning, organizing, and managing subordinate staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with the company's standards

Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints
-
Collaborating with others to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures
-
Overseeing and ensuring company revenue goals and customer service objectives are met
-
Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of company trucks and trailers
-
Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, and government (DOD) regulations
-
Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits and organizing and leading company's ongoing safety training and processes

As needed, negotiate and book sub-contractors to ensure they deliver within agreed terms

40-hour plus work week

Working hours: flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business as working hours vary, with off hours including weekend time

Availability as needed for emergency situations

Base pay is $60,000-$70,000 depending on work history, education, industry experience
